What to do during Quarantine
What to do during Quarantine
By: Imam ElHadi ElNaeem
The Prophet (saw) said, 'Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person'. (Tirmidhi)
Being at the heart of Hounslow (High Street) the Masjid has a duty to serve iftar daily to the many hundreds of people that require it. Last year, we had witnessed an increase in attendance for our daily iftar (we averaged 150 fasting people on weekdays and over 250 on the weekends). We expect similar if not larger turn out this year.
Ramadan is a time when the community spirit is revived and built through our services and engagement with our community.
You can either sponsor a full day of iftar at £500 on a weekday or £1,000 on the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Alternatively, you can donate any amount to support purchasing necessary supplies to serve the meals (paper plates, cups, spoons, tea, milk, water, etc.).
In this month of seeking mercy and forgiveness, providing iftar is the ideal way to maximise your efforts and get the most out of these 30 days
HMC opened its doors in Ramadan 2019, with a debt of £1,050,000 and through your generosity we have now paid back £855,000. This Ramadan, we want to clear the final £195,000.
You can make a difference this Ramadan!
Our vision is to establish a service-packed Masjid and Community Hub, in the heart of Hounslow, open to all, Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Alhamdulilah, in 2018 a disused Jehovah’s witness church was purchased and work began immediately to refurbish the property and actively work towards our vision of establishing a service packed beacon Masjid. We opened the doors in Ramadan 2019 accommodating 500 people and it has now become a local hub for the local community at Hounslow High Street.
Hounslow Muslim Centre was purchased for £1,600,000 of which £1,050,000 was Qard-e-Hasana. In three years that the Masjid has been open, through the generosity of our local and wider community we have now paid back £855,000.
The masjid sees over 700 visitors a day, with 5 daily salah and jummah facilities for Brothers and Sisters, weekly activities targeting members of the local community including Halaqah (short reminders), Qur’an classes (tafsir), tajweed classes, weekly madrasah, youth activities (inter-masjid football tournaments, boxing, boys hub, girls hub, trips and excursions).
We support anyone who is interested in Islam and provide a weekly new Muslim circle for those that have already taken their testimony of faith (shahadah).
A new Muslim chaplaincy service started in 2023, providing a counselling service for brothers, sisters and couples. This will be a unique and free service at the Masjid, provided by the Gift Foundation supporting people in:
We support international and national disasters and emergencies, by raising funds through our charity partner, with our most recent appeal for the Türkiye and Syria earthquake raising over £15,000.
Our masjid has £195,000 of qard-e-hasana and our target is to pay off this debt, earn Sadaqah Jariyah and multiply your rewards this month. Choose one of the donation amounts, £5000, £1000, £500, £250, £100 or any amount.
Together we can make our masjid debt free this Ramadan!
