At the centre of Hounslow, the Masjid hums with purpose as the sun leans toward evening. Each Ramadan the doors open wide and the community gathers—students, workers, families, and neighbours who find comfort in a shared meal. Last year we served an average of 200 people daily, and this year we prepare for an even greater need.
In these moments the Masjid is more than a building; it is a living promise that no one in our neighbourhood will break their fast alone. Volunteers set long mats, steam rises from pots, and filling plates becomes an act of mercy.
The Prophet ﷺ taught: "Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person."

Over the past six years, Hounslow Muslim Centre has grown from a modest prayer space into a vital lifeline for the community, serving thousands every week. Demand for worship, education, youth work, women’s programmes and essential community support continues to rise — yet HMC is physically boxed in on all sides.
Built for a much smaller congregation, the current facility is operating far beyond its intended capacity. Temporary fixes have been stretched to their limits. The only way forward is upward.
HMC is now embarking on a multi‑million‑pound redevelopment to create a purpose‑built, multi‑storey Masjid and Community Centre that will dramatically expand capacity and transform how services are delivered. The new building will offer:

Hounslow Muslim Centre & Faith Inspire will be running the Fajr Knights Winter Challenge, open to all children aged 7 to 16
This challenge is designed to make Fajr exciting, motivating, and spiritually uplifting for our young ones. There will be prizes, a warm community atmosphere, and breakfast provided on weekends and bank holidays. More importantly, it’s a chance for our children to develop discipline, love for the masjid, and connection with Allah from an early age.
The Prophet ﷺ gave glad tidings to those who walk to the masjid in the dark — imagine the reward and light our children can earn by taking part in this beautiful challenge.
We kindly encourage all parents to support their children during these two weeks. Wake them gently, motivate them, bring them along, and be part of their journey. Even if they attend some days and not others, every step towards the masjid counts.
Let’s work together to fill the masjid with our young Fajr Knights and help them grow into confident, spiritually strong Muslims.
